There was a time not long ago when my morning looked a little something like this…
Crying—it’s my human alarm clock and it’s time to get out of bed NOW.
That crying wakes up at least one more kid, but most likely everyone is awake as I stumble to the bathroom to put in my contacts (my only “getting ready” I do for the day…). From the moment I get out of bed, it’s a constant struggle to survive the day. Goal: To make it all the way to bedtime without too many tears, tantrums or traumas.
I got to take on the big task of planning out our four-day weekend. We don’t get much time with Scott, so that is a main reason why planning out our weekend is so important. We want our time together as a family to be fun, and not stressful or “wasted.”

Scott was in charge of planning our first weekend (read more about Family Habit #1: Take turns planning the weekend), which he gladly accepted because that meant I was next and had to plan the upcoming four-day weekend. Clearly this is something we need to practice because we both try to avoid coming up with weekend plans, and as a result just talk about it and do nothing. But none of that anymore!
